An outstanding Russian alumna joined the activities held by Shenzhen alumni of Sichuan University
On May 20, Olga Sapunova, an outstanding Russian alumna of Sichuan University (SCU), was invited by Academician Xie Heping, the former president of Sichuan University, to participate in the activities held by "Global Alumni Entrepreneurs - China's Greater Bay Area Association of Sichuan University" and "Shenzhen Alumni Association of Sichuan University". Mr. Zan Yunlong, an outstanding alumnus who graduated from Sichuan University in 1956, also attended the event. Now in his 80s, Mr. Zan acted as one of the main leaders of China's nuclear power industry. The SCU alumni met together to recall their golden days in Sichuan University and talk about the future.
Has been studying at SCU for seven years since 2003, Olga is an outstanding international student. After graduating from SCU, she won the Chinese Government Scholarship for her outstanding performance and then continued her studies in SCU. In 2010, she obtained a master's degree in economics from SCU and was determined to stay in China. She used to work for HKSTV and often appears on CCTV-4 international channel in recent years. She has never forgotten Sichuan University since graduation. She attended the National People's Congress in 2017 and interviewed Academician Xie Heping, who was then president of Sichuan University, at the press conference of the Sichuan delegation.
Olga has studied, worked and lived in China for nearly 20 years, so she has long regarded China as her second hometown and dedicated her talent and enthusiasm to this beautiful and fertile land. After the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, Olga wrote China, My Second Motherland! I Am With You! and recited it affectionately. After the video was posted on Weibo, it attracted the attention of netizens and was forwarded and reported by many mainstream media, such as the official Weibo account of CCTV-4.
